Haunt actors guild charter

A Mission-Driven Industry Advancement Organization

1. Our Purpose

The Haunt Actors Guild exists to grow, support, and elevate haunt performers as artists, collaborators, and professionals.

We operate as an industry advancement organization so that we can create real opportunities — not just conversations — for actors in the haunted attraction industry.

Profit is not the main purpose of the Guild.

Profit is the fuel that allows the Guild to build programs, pay contributors, and expand opportunities for performers.

2. Our Promise to Performers

Anyone who appears in Guild content is a collaborator, not a commodity.

We commit to:

• Clear permission before publishing identifiable appearances

• On-screen credit whenever reasonably possible

• Allowing actors to use Guild content in their personal portfolios

• Never selling or licensing an actor’s likeness without explicit agreement

• Transparent communication about monetization when content generates revenue

Participation should help an actor’s career — never harm it.

3. Monetization Ethics

The Guild may generate revenue through media, sponsorships, merchandise, memberships, and educational resources.

To maintain trust:

• Free educational resources will always exist

• Monetized projects will be disclosed to participants

• Some projects will include revenue-sharing opportunities

• No volunteer labor will be used in paid advertisements without compensation, if possible

• Annual transparency summaries will explain how revenue supports programs

We do not hide commercial intent — we explain it.

4. Reinvestment Commitment

A meaningful portion of Guild revenue will be reinvested into the performer community through things such as:

• training resources

• actor showcases

• equipment access

• recognition programs

• educational events

Growth of the Guild must result in growth of its performers.

5. Creative Rights & Respect

Actors retain ownership of their characters, makeup designs, and performance styles unless a separate written collaboration states otherwise.

The Guild documents performers — it does not claim them.

6. Community Voice

The Guild will periodically invite community feedback on programs, projects, and priorities.

While not a voting organization, we commit to listening before building.

7. Safety & Professional Standards

We will not promote practices that knowingly endanger performers physically, financially, or professionally.

We aim to model sustainable, respectful collaboration within an industry that often lacks formal protections.

8. Transparency

We will communicate honestly about what the Guild is:

A mission-driven industry advancement organization built to strengthen the haunt acting community.

Not a charity

Not a union

Not a talent agency

But a platform designed to help performers be seen, grow, and be valued.

9. Evolving the Charter

This Charter may evolve as the Guild grows.

Major changes will be publicly announced and explained.

The spirit of the Guild — supporting performers first — will not change.

The Haunt Actors Guild succeeds only if haunt actors succeed.
